Twitter announced Advertising Program for small business with Amex

Twitter today announced that it has launched its new advertising program for small businesses in partnership with American Express. The first 10,000 American Express card members who had first signed up for this service, today received alert that they can now setup their Ad campaigns.

Twitter in its blog post, said that this program is starting up small, and will increase the number of participating merchants over the coming weeks. Currently advertising Twitter members can promote their Twitter accounts, lace promotions and messages in Twitter timelines and promote tweets which will appear at the top of Twitter searches.

Small businesses that use Twitter ads can pay per follower and also advertise by Geographical areas. They are able to target the world, specific countries, or even specific U.S. metro areas. Businesses that have not currently signed up for Twitter advertising can do so here, they will be alerted when the option opens up for more businesses to start using the service.
